Big Grandma's Bird Nest

Big Grandma liked her birthday wreath so much, she has kept it up since April. Now, she can't take it down until the garden wren's eggs hatch.

Guess who came and brought cake?

I have to share my mom with my friends because she's the only Mom left in the group. This is Mother's Day 09 with Margie and Tom. Cake is the best part of this day. Second best is the nap that is about to follow.

New Big Grandma

For quite a while now, I have been doing BG's hair. She fired me and told me to find someone new. Pure luck took me to Pam, who does housecalls. Much better than the last time you saw her, don't you think?

Visitors

What a nice day. My cousins Leland and Charlsey and their spouses made a stop in San Antonio today. Everyone met at our house for lunch, then we made our way to Mom's later in the day. It was marvelous to get to have this mini-family reunion. Thanks ,Guys, for all the joy you left with us today.

Eighty-seven...still ticking

Mom celebrated her 87th birthday on April 7. My friend Margie joined us for lunch at Acadiana's, Mom's favorite restaurant. The waiters and waitresses did a rousing "Happy Birthday" song, then an old gentleman playing the saxophone did the Happy Birthday song instrumentally for her. She also got a complementary cake and ice cream serving. Here you see her just after she opened her presents. She also got lots of calls. She's a pretty lucky lady.

Lucky Us

Not everyone gets to keep his love ones happy and healthy to 86 years. What joy.

Big Grandma

Recently, Big Grandma visited me. She had been to the beauty shop and was looking pretty good. I grabbed my camera and tried to capture her in a place other than her "Archie Bunker"chair. An "Archie Bunker" chair is a chair that can only be occupied by its owner...no one else allowed.
